The world's most famous fantasy book and the Lord of the Rings film series based on it have entertained millions of fans of fantasy stories around the world for generations. One of the most popular side characters in the story, Klonkku, has finally got his own video game.
The player gets to control the character of the tragic story in time, which takes place parallel to the beginning of the events of The Lord of the Rings: The Knights of the Ring. Years after Bilbo's ring theft, Klonku's obsession with getting the ring back is ever-present. At the beginning of the game, while searching for his treasure near Mordor, Klonkku is captured by the Nazgûl and tortured by Sauron. This is where an adventure the size of 25 huge Middle-earth maps begins.
Gollum or Klonkku is known as a lonely and in many ways strange character who hates daylight and prefers dark caves. He hates humans and hobbits on the one hand and the orcs and goblins of Sauron's army on the other. Klonku's originality together with his fascinating story make him both a sympathetic and relatable character. Klonkku is not a traditional hero in any sense, but rather a kind of traveler of his own way and rather a sad anti-hero. This is partly why Klonkku is an excellent game character.
The partly open nature of the game world allows Klonku to freely control, sneak and fight against the dangers of the game world. The game makes ample use of Klonku's sneaking and hiding skills, because especially larger groups of opponents are too difficult for Klonku's limited abilities and resources. Klonku's own behavior also affects the nature of the game. Moral choices guide Klonku's development, which makes the adventure a tickling and exciting gaming experience.
However, the game does not offer only opponents, but along the way you will also see friendly characters such as Gandalf and Thranduil. Above all, the game aims to offer a deep and detailed action-adventure in the fantasy world created by author JRR Tolkien, but from a never-before-seen perspective.
