A kitchen torch is an essential tool for anyone serious about cooking. With it, you can create the perfect crème brûlée or tarte Tatin, brown meringue, meat, or fish, and easily skin tomatoes. Ignition is achieved by releasing the lock button and pressing the trigger. You can adjust the flame with a slider, and, if desired, the flame can be locked in place so that you don’t have to keep pressing the trigger. The torch can be used continuously for up to 10 minutes, after which it needs to cool down for 5 minutes. The blowtorch operates on butane gas, which can be purchased from hardware stores. To refill, hold the torch upside down and press the gas canister valve tightly against the torch’s refill port. Press for a few seconds and wait a few minutes for any excess gas to evaporate. The package does not include gas. The blowtorch should not be stored in direct sunlight or near heat sources. Special caution is required when using gas, as it is highly flammable.
