A liquid latex that can be used for many purposes. Liquid latex is also known as crude latex, gum latex and moulded rubber. It is one and the same substance with many names. Since latex is actually a natural material derived from gum trees, many people call it gum milk. It is obtained from trees in a liquid form, and the liquid is maintained by adding ammonia to the rubber milk.
Latex is easy to work with, but we do not recommend it for children. If you are an adult, you can use liquid latex easily, as long as the work area is well ventilated.
- General use: apply rubber latex with a brush or spatula, then clean with warm water and soap
- Glueing. Assemble the parts and let them dry until the next day. Textile parts glued with latex can be machine washed in a gentle programme, e.g. with wool detergent
- Mould preparation: spray the workpiece to be "copied" in the mould with casting oil so that the latex mould can finally be removed. Then apply latex to the piece with a brush and allow to dry. Repeat these steps until the rubber mould is about 1 mm thick. Remove the mould
- Unfinished surfaces: apply liquid latex in dots or streaks and allow to dry
- NOTE! We recommend working in a well-ventilated area, as liquid latex contains ammonia.
