A strawberry-themed stamp designed by Klaus Welp will also be published in January. The fresh and reduced timeless stamp mark brings a familiar summer taste to the lips.
Klaus Welp has had a long career with stamps. He has designed a total of 115 stamps for Posti since 2008, including the newest Kesän maku stamp. "A postage stamp is in itself a great institution and a small work of art. Over the years, stamps have strengthened Finland's positive identity; culture, environmental themes and tolerance as well", Welp assesses.
Klaus Welp is a visual art all-rounder whose job description consists of graphic artist, illustrator, photographer and director. His illustrations are familiar from many Finnish newspapers and magazines. He has also actively participated in several non-governmental organizations and e.g. for Greenpeace projects. Welp is also known for its counter-advertising activities between 2005 and 2017.
