Low-profile active ear defenders with a leather headband, an AUX socket and a sound amplification function. Sordin Hear2 sound profiles, which allow you to easily select the most suitable mode for the situation using the buttons on the side of the ear cup:
- Hunter: Hunting and general-purpose mode. Suitable for a wide range of uses, making the experience both pleasant and effective.
- Shooter: Shooting range mode. In this profile, you can focus on your performance without being distracted by surrounding events. This is also the recommended mode to select when using earplugs with the X2 simultaneously in Dual-Protection mode.
- Focus: High gain and alert mode. A wider frequency range, allowing you to hear even faint sounds clearly; can be used with earplugs to achieve maximum protection
- Ambient Off: Ambient hearing feature switched off, but AUX communication remains active. Passive hearing protection. Suitable for situations requiring maximum concentration.
The hearing protectors feature a slim cup design that suits both right- and left-handed shooters as well as spectacle wearers, and works well with a gun stock. With the standard Memory Foam attenuation rings, the attenuation values are SNR 29 dB, NRR 23 dB, and H 32 dB, M 27 dB and L 20 dB. When used in Dual-Protection mode, with Sordin SoftEar earplugs worn underneath (measurements taken with M/L-sized earplugs), the attenuation rises to SNR 40 dB and H 38 dB, M 38 dB and L 36 dB. The level-limited hearing function allows you to safely hear ambient sounds, such as warning signals, vehicles and important announcements, as the maximum output level is limited to 82 dB. A fast recovery time restores normal sound immediately after a shot is fired.
The device features a 3.5 mm AUX socket for external audio sources, enabling easy connection of external devices such as hunting radios, walkie-talkies, mobile phones, etc. as well as audio feedback that indicates the functions in use and alerts the user to low battery levels. The durable electronics are protected from moisture by several layers of protective varnish, and the automatic power-off function switches the device off after four hours. Waterproof microphones ensure reliable performance even in demanding conditions.
The ear defenders feature a headband covered in black leather and comfortable Memory Foam cushion rings. The power source is 1 x AA 1.5V alkaline battery (included), and the Sordin Power 14500 rechargeable 3.7V battery is available as an optional extra. Operating time is approximately 60 hours, and up to 90 hours with the rechargeable battery. The device operates reliably within a wide operating temperature range of –32°C to +55°C and weighs 309 g including the headband. The design complies with RoHS and WEEE environmental requirements, and the essential components are waterproof to IP67 rating. Complies with the requirements of the CE EN352-1, EN352-4 and EN352-6 standards. Exceptionally long maximum service life of 10 years. 5-year warranty against material and manufacturing defects.
