Meira Mineral salt contains sea salt, which is made naturally from sea water by evaporating the water with the heat of the sun and cleaning the remaining salt. Iodine has been added to the salt to ensure an adequate intake. One kilogram of salt contains 25 mg of iodine. Meira mineral salt has more than 50% less sodium chloride than regular salt, and it contains health-promoting minerals such as potassium and magnesium. Reducing sodium and getting enough potassium in the diet help keep blood pressure at a normal level. Due to the low sodium content, mineral salt is not suitable for preserving or salting fish.
