The slim design of the tool has good user ergonomics. Operation is facilitated by stepless speed control from the operating switch in the range 0 to 3,000 min⁻¹. The speed can also be limited with a separate adjustment wheel in the range 1000-3000 min⁻¹. In addition, the work is facilitated by a generously sized operating switch, two LED work lights, a wide hanging hook and a spring that speeds up the blade change, which pushes the blade away when changing it.
The JR002G is equipped with Makita's AVT (Anti-Vibration Technology) anti-vibration technology, which effectively dampens the vibration directed at the user. The Makita XPT system effectively protects the machine against water and dust even in the most demanding conditions.
