LPG burner to replace the traditional spritz burner.
The LPG burner of a camping stove can be replaced e.g. by a traditional Trangia or similar alcohol/spirit burner. Suitable for e.g. X25 Haghus stove. The advantage of the LPG burner over the traditional one is efficiency and speed: cooking and boiling times are considerably reduced. The gas burner is suitable for most camping gas cylinders with international EN417 thread (7/16NS LINDAL valve). The gas consumption is about 160g/hour at full power, so with a 230g cylinder you can use the cooker for about 1.3 hours at full power. In practice, with a conventional aluminium camping kettle, 1 litre of water in about 220 seconds (varies somewhat depending on the gas used and the weather).
Installation:
Remove the old spri cooker from the frame of the camping stove. Install the gas cooker in its place with the gas hose coming out from under the cooker. Some cooker models have a hole for this purpose, through which the hose and valve can be pushed out. Then screw the gas cylinder onto the valve and tighten it. Open the gas and light the flame with a match, for example. NOTE: If there is no hole in the body of your kettle for the valve and hose, this is not mandatory, in which case you can pull the hose under the edge. Alternatively, you can also make a hole in the body yourself, e.g. using a suitably sized cup point and a drill.
