Biola's Kesäkukkamulta is a compost-fertilized and limed soil mixture, which has been specially developed as a growing medium for summer flowers and group plants. The soil contains crushed light gravel and biochar, thanks to which the structure of the soil is airy and light. Even after drying, the soil absorbs water well and moistens evenly. Biochar can bind water to itself and release it slowly for plants to use. Thus, it enables longer watering intervals.

Use:
- Biolan's Kesäkukkamulta contains a lot of nutrients, so it forgives occasional neglect in the treatment fertilization. For additional fertilization, either Biolan Natural Nutrient Liquid for Summer Flowers is suitable for each watering or Biolan Natural Fertilizer Granules (chicken poo + seaweed) placed as storage fertilizer.
Stock fertilization:
- Before filling the flower pot, make sure that there are holes in the bottom for the drainage of excess water. During the planting phase, pits are made between the seedlings, where fertilizer is placed in small piles. To avoid overfertilization, it is important not to mix the fertilizer with the entire amount of soil. Finally, the fertilizer granules are covered with soil. Fertilizer granules are placed in 1–1.5 liters in containers larger than 10 liters and 0.5–1 liters in smaller ones. The appropriate amount of storage fertilizer for ampel is 1 dl of natural fertilizer granules/1 liter of soil. Also in ampel, fertilizer granules are added in small piles between the seedlings and are not mixed with the whole soil. The fertilizer granules are covered with a thin layer of soil before planting the plants. The planting container is filled with soil so that there is room for watering on the surface. There are enough nutrients from the stored fertilizer part for the entire growing season, so only water is used for irrigation.
Fertilization when watering:
- Alternatively, instead of stock fertilization, you can use Biola Luonnonravinenneste Kesäkukille solution for each watering. 1 capful of the solution is dosed in 3 liters of irrigation water. One liter of Nutrient Liquid gives 100 liters of working solution.
