Winsor & Newton Artisan 37 ml water-soluble oil paint is genuine. Instead of solvents, i.e. turpentine or white spirit, the artist can use water for thinning. Painting tools can be easily cleaned with soap and water. Artisan is a genuine oil paint made from modified linseed oil and modified safflower oil. It has been developed to work just like regular oil paint, and also to look like it. Because Artisan has the same depth of color as conventional oil paint, the same butter-like consistency, the same lightfastness and coverage/translucency, as well as the same application properties and drying times, artists can use Artisan with all oil paint methods. This is because modified oils have been used in the manufacture; they are not water-repellent, but easily mix with it.
