Wedderspoon Manuka 400 MGO is genuine and original, unheated Manuka honey from New Zealand. Manuka honey is rich in enzymes and phenolic compounds, plus compounds unique to Manuka honey, such as leptosperine and methylglyoxal, making it a truly versatile natural product.
Honey takes its name from the Manuka bush (Leptospermum Scoparium), whose nectar is harvested by bees. The shrub is found only in New Zealand and Australia and belongs to the tea tree shrub group.
In the context of Manuka honey, MGO stands for methylglyoxal, a naturally occurring compound
that distinguishes Manuka honey from other honeys. In practice, higher levels of MGO mean stronger and more
effective benefits for the user. MGO 400+ means that the honey contains at least 400 mg of methylglyoxal per kg. Wedderspoon has its honey produced subjected to batch specific compositional analysis by an independent laboratory as required by the New Zealand Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. This way you can be sure that the Wedderspoon MGO honey you are consuming is genuine Manuka honey with a confirmed MGO level.
You can consume Manuka honey as a wellness and preventative measure at approximately one teaspoon per day.
Increase the dosage to 3-4 times per day if required.
Not for children under 1 year of age.
Do not heat Manuka, as heating it takes away its effectiveness.
