A working mechanical wooden clock has long been the most popular novelty model that we have been asked for. Your dream has been our dream too, and our team of dedicated Ugears engineers and designers have been working hard to make this shared dream a reality. Finally the wait is over. Ugears is proud to present the Aero clock, a fully functional DIY wall clock with a pendulum.
The Aero watch is not just a 3D wooden mechanical model or a beautiful object. The Ugears clock is a real working clock that you can build yourself, attach to the wall, pull and watch the seconds, minutes and hours tick by. The Aero clock is an ingenious design and DIY clock mechanism unlike any other clock. It is an exquisitely detailed piece of engineering craftsmanship that reveals the workings of a weighted pendulum clock to builders and viewers. As with all Ugears models, it also has extra features that captivate the viewer and enchant our growing fan base.
This simple yet stylish Ugears watch is powered by gravity pulling down a weighted bag (you can fill the bag with sand or salt). Lift the bag over the pulleys to turn the clock. As the weight slowly drops, it spins the drive wheel, which then spins the escape wheel through the reducer. The watch has an adjustable weighted pendulum that interacts with the escapement wheel via the steady pendulum of the armature mechanism. You can adjust the clock pendulum to second by sliding the top and bottom weights of the pendulum. The reduction device transmits the rotation to the hour and minute discs as well. One of the interesting features of our Aero watch is that the time is not read by rotating hands on the dial, but instead a fixed pointer shows the time on slowly rotating, numbered hour and minute discs. Also, these discs rotate counter-clockwise - did you know that before standardization, some clocks moved clockwise and others counter-clockwise? In the role of "hand", the Ugears Aero watch has a hot air balloon. The hanging balloon descends rapidly over the course of an hour and then rises slowly over the next hour.
