The basic idea in Tormek's grinding systems is repeatability. The grinding angle is adjusted with controls, only a small amount of steel is removed during grinding. The method is very fast. In addition, the blades last longer. Tormek uses a uniquely effective aluminum oxide grinding stone. Finishing sanding and polishing is done with a leather disc. A sanding guide can also be used to achieve a precise and sharp result. The universal support, which serves as the basic element of the system, has a thread for fine-tuning the precision settings. The universal support can be installed either in a vertical position for counter-sanding or in a horizontal position for parallel sanding.
