Standard equipment
Lateral tensioning of the blade chain Almost all STIHL chainsaws (with the exception of the MS 170) are equipped with side tensioning of the saw chain, thus avoiding contact with a sharp saw chain. Turn off the chainsaw and loosen the nut of the bite guard. Tighten the saw chain with a screwdriver and carefully test the chain tension on the saw chain. Easy and safe.
Compensator The STIHL compensator monitors the carburettor so that the mixture of fuel and air is always in the optimal ratio, depending on the dirtiness of the filter. The compensator enables low emissions and optimal power. When you notice that the power clearly decreases, it's time to clean the filter. The filter cleaning interval is considerably longer
Primer pump With a hand-operated primer pump, the required amount of fuel is pumped into the carburetor with a few thumb presses. In this way, you will reduce unnecessary pulling of the starter cord, which would cause the fuel to rise on the carburettor. There is also no longer a risk of fuel overflow, as all excess fuel flows back into the fuel tank.
Easy cleaning of the air filter Shaking: when the air filter needs cleaning, you can easily and quickly access the air filter with one quick release screw.
STIHL 2-MIX engine The STIHL 2-MIX engine is efficient and at the same time environmentally friendly. The exhaust gas is separated from the unburned gas, which minimizes flushing losses, i.e. the parts of the mixture that get out unburned. This increases power and reduces consumption. Runs on two-stroke fuel.
STIHL 4-channel flushing technology The fuel/air mixture is led into the combustion chamber through 4 different flushing channels. Combustion is optimal and engine power increases significantly. The result: lower fuel consumption, increased power and less harmful emissions.
Vibration damping system A person who is exposed to long-term vibration, for example engine vibration, can suffer from circulatory disorders in the hands and arms. STIHL's highly effective vibration damping reduces the vibration caused by the machine and the cutting device to a suitable level, so that the machine is safe and ergonomic to use.
STIHL ErgoStart (E) Reduces the force needed when starting by half and a steady pull on the starter cord is enough to start the machine. The soft start is based on a spiral spring between the pulley and the crankshaft.
STIHL Ematic chain lubrication system Compared to a standard saw blade without the Ematic system, the STIHL Ematic system saves chain oil by up to 50%, depending on the type of wood and the saw chain. The system is compatible with STIHL Ematic or Ematic S blade plate, STIHL Oilomatic blade chain and oil pump. As a result, the chain oil flowing into the groove of the blade plate sticks to the rotating chain without loss.
Quick release tank caps Patented closing method for fuel and oil tanks. The cap is closed with a bayonet connector, which makes opening and closing the cap really easy, without tools.
