You can service STIHL gasoline trimmers and brushcutters yourself with the service kit Service kit 47. Regular maintenance, such as changing the air and fuel filters and the spark plug, will help extend the life of your brushcutters. STIHL Service Kit 47 for FS 38 (with STIHL 2-MIX engine) and FS 55 (with STIHL 2-MIX engine) includes:
- Fleece air filter
- Spark plug
- Fuel filter
Note: Service kit 47 can only be used on models FS 38 and FS 55 with a STIHL 2-MIX engine. In order to choose the right maintenance kit, please note that the thread of the spark plug installed on the clearing saw must be M10.
The STIHL fleece filter offers good filter quality in many operating conditions. Coarse dirt particles stick to the surface and fine dirt particles stay inside the filter. It is also recommended to replace the spark plug regularly to maintain performance. This forms the basic engine for clean combustion. The fuel filter ensures that there are no foreign particles in the fuel before it enters the engine. This protective motor drive ensures a longer service life. This part also needs to be replaced regularly to keep it working reliably.
When changing the air filter and spark plug, it is best to use the practical combination socket that came with your STIHL brushcutter. A cardboard hook is integrated into the package of the service kit itself, which can be used to conveniently remove and replace the fuel filter. You don't need any additional tools to do this.
