The S&W M&P 15 Sport III is an updated version of the previous Sport II model for functional shooting. The most significant change is the completely redesigned front grip, which now features a modern long M-Lok front grip. In addition, the previous open sights have been removed and the rifle is now equipped with a long Picatinny rail on the receiver and front handguard. The rifle has familiar controls with a single-sided 90° safety, slide release, and magazine release. The semi-automatic rifle has a medium-length gas system. The rifle is equipped with a telescopic stock, a 10-round detachable magazine, and a traditional AR pistol grip.
