The Shelly Plug M Gen3 is a compact smart plug with a range of
built-in features that
make it easy to turn floor lamps and other devices into
smart devices. The device has a 13A relay and a built-in
power meter, so you can monitor your consumption and automatically
switch off unnecessary standby power.
With the built-in schedule and
sunrise/sunset control, you can also
automate the control of all your devices.
The Shelly Plug M Gen3 is easy to install and control via the Shelly
Smart Control app or your favourite smart home
system. Shelly devices operate 100 per cent
locally and require only a local network
to function. Shelly can be used on its own with the Shelly Smart
Control app or with over 200 partner systems,
such as Google Home, Amazon Alexa, Home Assistant, Samsung
SmartThings, Athom Homey and many others.
The Shelly Plug M is designed for use in a building’s
existing sockets, enabling smart
control of non-smart devices, such as floor lamps. It can also be used to eliminate standby power consumption from TVs, PlayStations and
similar devices, or
to improve safety by automatically switching off an iron
after a few minutes. If you wish
to use the device solely to monitor the power consumption of household appliances or similar
devices, you can set a PIN code on the Shelly Plug
S to prevent the device from being switched off accidentally
via the app. The Shelly Plug M features a powerful LED ring
on the front, which can visualise the current
level of energy consumption by cycling through green, yellow and
red. The light can also be switched off or
used as a night light when you or your children get up in the night.
The Shelly Plug M can be connected to the internet or a local
network via 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. In addition, the device has
built-in Bluetooth, just like the other Pro, Plus and
Gen3 devices, so it can also be used as a gateway for Shelly
Bluetooth devices. The Shelly Plug M works
locally without a connection to the Shelly Cloud, but it is
recommended that you activate it for easy data storage and
enhanced functionality. The device can also
communicate via MQTT, HTTP and WebSocket.
The device is equipped with third-generation hardware, which
includes a powerful ESP-Shelly-C38F CPU and 8MB of flash
memory. This makes the Shelly Plug M Gen3
future-proof and enables the use of scripting functions
and virtual devices for advanced and
user-customisable functionality.
