Are there hippos here? Nothing to see. Yes, over there! Only the tiny ears and nostrils are visible in the water. The hippo is dozing there, enjoying himself and cooling off. The African sun can be quite hot. So the grey giant prefers to spend his time in the water. Here he moves almost weightlessly - and with such a massive body! He only comes ashore at night to graze in the meadow. On its short legs, it tramples along carrying its heavy body. But it should not be underestimated. On land, too, the hippo can reach quite a pace once it gets going. Beware!
