When switching to Linear MF, the focus control matches the torque of the focus ring as closely as possible to that of a manual focus. The lens has a digital parfocal design that is specialized for video. After focusing on the subject in MF mode, the focus doesn’t require adjusting again, even when zoomed in or out.
