A lot has changed since the early 1950s, including musicians’ needs when it comes to instruments. The MALIBU™ series captures the essence of those early bolt-on neck guitars in a stylish, updated package. The slightly smaller body makes it lighter and more manageable. We also made the cutaway deeper to achieve better neck-to-body contact. The compact, angular, backward-sloping headstock also delivers improved performance, not to mention better intonation.
The angled, backward-sloping headstock applies greater pressure from the strings to the nut. This results in better attack and sustain.
