The Rycote HC-35 is a hypercardioid, long shotgun microphone designed for specific applications, such as sports broadcasts and location recording, where wide-angle shots and loud noise rejection are important for clean sound. The HC-35 delivers highly directional polarization thanks to a longer interference tube than its siblings, the HC-15 and HC-22, providing better o-axis rejection. It is also remarkably lightweight compared to other solutions, allowing easier alignment of sound sources when mounted on the windshield or in a classic softie-slip-on enclosure.
