Background
The Panavia Tornado, a joint project of the German, British and Italian aviation industries, revolutionized military aviation in the 1970s. The IDS (Interdiction/Strike) variant was developed specifically for air-to-ground attacks, while the British GR.1 was designed as a multi-purpose variant.
