Lactobacillus acidophilus D2/CSL probiotic, which is included in this product, is a very effective intestinal inhabitant in both dogs and cats. This probiotic helps balance the microbiota and normalize bowel function and stool composition. Lactobacilli in this product are lactic acid bacteria that occur naturally, for example, in plants. They pass into your pet's intestines and colonize it immediately after birth. This prevents the reproduction of unwanted bacteria such as enterobacteriaceae, Clostridium perfringens and Echerichia coli. If the normal proportion of lactobacilli decreases, then the chances of action of unwanted bacteria increase. Studies show that Lactobacillus acidophilus D2 is able to colonize the intestines of both cats and dogs, restore intestinal function and the well-being of the animal.
