Interchangeable digital zoom lens for basic use Despite its exceptionally compact size, the LUMIX G VARIO 12-32mm / F3.5-5.6 ASPH. / MEGA O.I.S. offers a versatile zoom range of 24-64mm (35mm cinema equivalent). By taking advantage of the 24 mm wide-angle view, you can squeeze all your subjects into one shot, even indoors where shooting distances are often short. Easy to carry, this lens is sure to be useful in a variety of situations, capturing startling landscapes and relaxed snapshots alike. The metal body lens is surprisingly small. Technical solutions have been used to reduce its size. Each individual lens is designed to be as thin as possible and placed as close together as possible. Two groups of lenses are used as a moving O.I.S. lens unit, and for the first time an image stabilizer has been integrated into the LUMIX G digital lens. The power source responsible for moving the two lens groups is a newly developed motor. The lens is available with the DMC-GM1 and is a perfect match in both size and style. An internal focus control system and stepper motor make the lens smooth and quiet in operation with the camera's fast, highly accurate auto-contrast focusing during still and video shooting. Focusing is possible at up to 240 fps, seamlessly supporting cameras with fast autofocus, such as the DMC-GM1.
