The NITEforce ground wire antenna is precisely tuned to the middle of the frequencies of the VHF channels (1 – 26) used in Finland, so you can manage with the same ground wire if the channels are changed during the yacht. The cable has a soft silicone shell with a flexible copper core. The fixing loop under the antenna of the VHF phone is a solid copper pair. Copper is definitely the best choice of material for the ground wire!
How does the NITEforce ground wire antenna work?
NITEforce ground wire antenna together with own VHF phone antenna form a unified dipole effect. As both antennas complement each other, it improves the overall radiation of your VHF phone so you can hear and send further.
The VHF telephone ground wire antenna is suitable for all VHF telephones where the grounding point of the antenna is bare metal at the base of the antenna. At the end of the ground wire there is a full copper lasso, which is tightened under the phone's own antenna. If necessary, the copper lasso of the ground wire can be trimmed to fit your phone, for example by shortening it or making the loop bigger or smaller. During use, the silicone cord is allowed to hang straight down freely under its own weight.
