The TUNDRA vest is identical in cut and materials to the ASPEN, but with a completely new technology. The TUNDRA heating system has a power of 12.5 W and a battery capacity of 36 Wh. The operating time is 2.5 h at full power and 8 h at the lowest power.
The TUNDRAN battery charging input is USB C type, so the battery can be charged with any charger/charging cable with a USB C connector at the output. In addition, instead of the previous mains charger, the vest comes with a charging cable with both USB A and C connectors at the charger end and a USB C connector at the battery end. The cable allows the TUNDRAN battery to be charged by virtually any USB A or USB C charger.
NEVERCOLD Tundra is a powerful and versatile high-neck thermal vest. Its four chunky but thin heating elements distribute heat evenly across the chest and back. The large heating element on the upper back measures no less than 20 x 22 cm, while the heating elements on the chest and lower back measure 20 x 11.5 cm.
The NEVERCOLD Tundra thermal vest has a multi-layer construction to ensure the best possible performance in all conditions. The outer layer of the vest is a polyester microfleece fabric with a windproof membrane underneath. The inner layer is a mesh lining. The thin and discreet red microfleece heating elements are positioned between the mesh lining and the windbreaker, i.e. as close to the wearer's body as possible to minimise heat loss.
The NEVERCOLD Tundra thermal vest is powered by a small but powerful lithium-ion battery, which has its own discreet place in the vest's battery pocket. The battery is charged using any charger with a USB A or USB C output (e.g. mobile phone charger) and the charging cable supplied with the vest. Charging the battery consumes only about 0.05 kWh of energy, so even at high electricity prices (50 c/kWh) the cost of charging is only about two to three cents. The Tundra has two battery pockets. By purchasing an extra battery, you can use two batteries at the same time, doubling the life of the vest.
The NEVERCOLD Tundra thermal vest has three levels of temperature control. The heating intensity is selected by a push button on the left chest of the vest. The colour of the button light indicates the selected heating intensity. At full power, the heating elements have a temperature of 52 °C and a battery life of approximately 2.5 hours. At the lowest power level, the heating elements are heated to 38 °C and the battery life is approximately 8 hours. If you use two batteries at the same time, the battery life is about 5 hours at full power and about 16 hours at minimum power. Heating can be switched off completely by push-button when not required.
The NEVERCOLD Tundra is at its best when worn directly over a layer of underwear. In this way, the heating elements are as close to the body as possible. The vest should also be sized to fit snugly so that there is not too large a layer of air between the body and the vest. If the vest is too loose, it will reduce the sensation of warmth experienced by the wearer.
