Natura Media's K2 vitamin contains 180 µg of stabilized MenaQ7® menaquinone in each capsule. Menaquinone-7, or MK-7, is a highly absorbable and long-lasting form of vitamin K2. The K2 vitamin MenaQ7® comes from France and is natural, fermented vitamin K2.
Vitamin K2 also exists in MK-4 and MK-6 forms, but due to its molecular structure, the MK-7 form has been found to have the highest absorption rate and a significantly longer half-life in the body. Vitamin K2 is particularly important for maintaining normal bones.
Natura Media's K2 vitamin capsules are manufactured in Raisio, Finland. The product is completely plant-based, meaning it is also suitable for a vegan diet. Although natto, or fermented soybeans, is a potent source of vitamin K2 in the diet, no soybeans are used in the natural fermentation process of MenaQ7® menaquinone-7. The capsules do not contain other common allergens such as gluten, grains, nuts, eggs, or milk.
Vitamin K2 contributes to the maintenance of normal bones. How does this happen? Vitamin K2 is like a traffic director for calcium in the body. Its most important task for bone health is to ensure that calcium ends up where it is most needed.
