The Makita UB005G is a lightweight leaf blower/vacuum for clearing leaves and debris from small areas. The maximum blowing force is 5.0 N, which is more than enough for blowing dry leaves and debris off smooth surfaces. The blower is dual-function: with a single movement of the lever and by fitting the collection bag, the blower converts into a vacuum. It is easy to use the vacuum function to collect the leaves that have been blown into the bag. The vacuum function shreds the leaves, meaning they take up less space in the bag. Furthermore, shredded leaves decompose more quickly. The blower’s rotational speed can be adjusted across two speed ranges, either steplessly via a switch or by setting the speed to the desired level using the constant speed control, in which case there is no need to press the switch.
