Description: A traditional log barn with a timeless, open-frame structure. The ‘R Kymppi’ promotional model is slightly lower than the standard model (side wall 1.85 m), but features long eaves and sturdy fascia boards.

The slatted, ventilated structure ensures good air circulation: goods stay dry, moisture is wicked away and firewood continues to dry. The sloping side walls and long eaves prevent snow and water from reaching the wall surfaces.

Made from 42 mm Lapland red spruce, which develops a beautiful patina. The structure is designed to withstand northern snow loads of 300 kg/m².

Advantages of the structure: The slatted structure keeps moisture at bay: The ventilated slatted design of the shed ensures excellent air circulation. Stored items remain protected from the rain, whilst moisture and exhaust fumes are effectively drawn away. Firewood continues to dry out and machinery is kept in better condition. Thanks to the well-ventilated structure, mould cannot form on the surface of the logs; untreated Lapland red spruce quickly takes on a greyish surface colour, however, this is not a characteristic that weakens the logs but a normal change.

Red spruce as a building material: The durability of Lapland red spruce is based on its slow growth, which can be seen in its dense annual rings. The Lapland red pine we use is considerably more durable as a building material than pine that has grown rapidly in the south.

Long eaves – Protecting the side walls from snow and rain: LP Garden log barns have long eaves. The combination of long eaves and sloping side walls in windy and snowy locations leaves a gap of around 5–10 cm between the walls and the snowdrifts, ensuring the log buildings last for a long time. The long eaves can withstand heavy wind and snow loads because they are made from 42x145 Lapland red spruce, whilst our competitors’ equivalent eaves are made from planks.

A high-quality structure designed to withstand northern conditions: LP Garden garden sheds are based on traditional and tried-and-tested principles of log construction. Solutions proven effective over centuries have been combined with modern design to ensure the end result is robust, practical and long-lasting. All our buildings are designed to withstand northern snow and wind loads. Snow load resistance is calculated at 300 kg/m², and we have used 1.0 kN/m² as the wind load design value. Our aim is to offer a high-quality and durable log building at a reasonable price.

Treat and finish it to suit your own style: you can finish your LP Garden garden shed to perfectly match your garden or holiday home surroundings, using the right colours. Treat it with a wood preservative or paint it with an opaque wood-protective paint. When painting, please bear in mind that the logs used in garden buildings are planed, which can make it difficult for the paint to adhere properly. Follow the paint manufacturer’s instructions to prevent the paint finish from flaking off. If you wish, you can also turn the garden shed into an eye-catching feature of your garden by using bolder colours or highlighting the door with a contrasting shade.

Planning permission: The LP Garden R Kymppi (10 m²) can be built with a planning permission. Building regulations allow the construction of outbuildings under 30m² with a notification permit, provided the following conditions are met:
- There is unused building entitlement on the plot.
- You comply with the statutory 4-metre rule.
- If the plot is situated next to a body of water, you must check the building regulations regarding the shoreline.

LP Garden – the market’s most robust flooring package for garden buildings (available as an optional extra): LP Garden’s garden building flooring package is designed to withstand the demanding conditions of the north and offers the sturdiest and most robust floor structure on the market for garden buildings. The joists and floorboards in the package are made from 42 × 145 mm strong Lapland red spruce, which is known for its excellent strength, dimensional stability and durability. The flooring kit also includes joist supports as well as all the necessary screws and anchor nails, making installation quick and hassle-free. The decking boards are installed with 5–8 mm gaps, which ensures good ventilation and prevents moisture from accumulating in the structure. The LP Garden decking kit combines a strong structure, high-quality materials and ease of installation, offering a long-lasting and reliable solution for any garden building.

Sturdy foundation pack (available as an optional extra): The foundation pack includes reinforced plastic adjustable feet and concrete slabs. The compressive strength of the adjustable feet is superior to that of a block foundation. The adjustability allows you to level out any unevenness in the ground. Installation is quick and easy, and if frost heave after winter has altered the ground, it is straightforward to adjust the building.

Roofing materials (available as optional extras): A complete metal roofing package is available, which includes not only the roofing sheets but also ridge and valley flashings, as well as the necessary fixing screws. The roof colour can be chosen from several options: Black (RR33), dark brown (RR32), red (RR29) or graphite grey (RR23). We use the R-20 profile, which is screwed directly onto the roof battens included in the timber package. Metal roofing kits are also available with condensation protection. Condensation protection prevents water from condensing on the inner surface of the sheet metal as the weather changes. We implement the condensation protection using the DRIPSTOP anti-condensation coating; in other words, the condensation protection is applied to the underside of the sheet metal, meaning that no cross-battens or separate underlay are required. A complete shingle roofing package is also available, which, in addition to the roofing, includes ridge and eaves felt as well as eaves flashings. We also supply rough-sawn battens with the shingle roofing. Fixing materials are not included as there are several models of nail guns available. The colour of the roofing can be chosen from several options: black, dark brown, red or dark grey.
