Lacto Seven contains seven different freeze-dried, natural lactic acid bacteria strains (e.g. Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium strains) and inulin. Inulin is a plant fiber that lactic acid bacteria use for food. Dietary supplement.
Lactic acid bacteria are protected by a special double-coating (dual-coating), where each bacterium is surrounded by two protective shells formed from digested protein and carbohydrate. The double coating protects the bacteria from the acidity of the stomach and keeps them alive and functional all the way to the intestines. When the bacteria move from the stomach to the small intestine, the decrease in intestinal acidity dissolves the double coating, and live bacteria are already released into the small intestine and large intestine.
