The vest’s warmth is derived from the 700 cuin down filling and TEXATHERM CORE technology. This combination offers a good warmth-to-weight ratio and helps keep the torso warm without the added weight or restricted movement caused by sleeves. With a total weight of just 0.4 kg, the Wild Pass Down Vest M RDS also works well as a portable extra layer of warmth on outings and trips.
The TEXASHIELD PRO outer fabric is completely windproof, water-repellent and highly breathable. The windproof construction helps to reduce the effects of cold draughts and retain the heat generated inside the vest. The water-repellent surface offers protection from light rain and snow, but this is not a fully waterproof outer layer. Good breathability enhances comfort during active movement.
The Wild Pass Down Vest M RDS is part of Jack Wolfskin’s 3-in-1 compatible range. Using the system zip, the vest can be attached inside a compatible outer jacket to act as a warming layer. This means it can be worn on its own in dry and cool weather, or as part of a more protective ensemble in cold and changeable conditions.
The sleeveless design leaves the arms completely free, making the gilet a practical choice for active movement and layering. It provides warmth, particularly for the mid-section, without feeling like a full-length jacket, and can be easily combined with, for example, a long-sleeved mid-layer or a shell jacket.
Two zipped hand pockets provide secure and easily accessible storage for items such as a mobile phone, keys and other small items. The adjustable hem allows the fit to be tailored to the wearer and the conditions, whilst also reducing draughts entering the vest from below.
The regular fit allows for natural movement and makes the vest easy to layer over base and mid-layers. The back length is 71 cm.
