- Ipakitine is indicated for the support of renal function in chronic renal failure. It contains calcium carbonate, which has phosphate-binding properties, and chitin, which reduces the absorption of phosphates and uremic toxins from the intestine.
- Supplementary feed for cats and dogs.
Directions for use:
Ipakitine powder is administered with food 1 scoop (1 g) per five kilograms of animal weight twice daily. Water should always be available to the animal. At the time of start of use, use for a maximum of 6 months. After this period, veterinary consultation is recommended. Ipakitine is completely odourless and tasteless, making it suitable for even the most fussy cats and dogs.
Ipakitine is suitable for both short and long term use. Phosphate binders will usually need to be used for the rest of the pet's life. In chronic renal failure, it is advisable to limit phosphorus intake from food, for example by giving industrial kidney food, and to monitor blood phosphorus levels regularly.
Ingredients: lactose, calcium carbonate, chitosan (from shellfish).
Nutrients: inorganic matter 10 %, crude protein 4 %, calcium 3,7 %, crude fibre 0,5 %, crude fat 0,5 %.
Storage: Room temperature (15-25 °C). Keep out of the reach and sight of children and animals.
