The clearly geometric, lightweight Centro pendant lamp was created by Tapio Wirkkala in 1961. The lantern-shaped polyethylene lamp was previously known as the TW001 table lamp, and now Innolux is also launching two different sized pendant lamp models in its selection, according to the original sketches. The prototypes made of the lamp were once shaped with a plastic bottle machine at the Karhula glass factory. Today, the Centro hanging lamp is created using rotational casting technology and is still manufactured in Finland. The black textile cord gives the sleek hanging lamp poise, creating a much-needed contrast to the light shade. The partial ribbing of the dome guarantees Centro's original look.
