About the product

A dense, strongly adhesive, and flexible metal roof paint based on acrylic binder, containing anti-corrosion pigment. It withstands stresses caused by weather changes well. Also suitable for previously untreated galvanized steel surfaces as well as previously painted metal surfaces.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE NEW SURFACES: It is not recommended to paint a new metal roof. Instead, the metal should be allowed to oxidize for two years to ensure proper adhesion of the paint. Before painting, wash the roof thoroughly with a metal roof cleaner, scrubbing vigorously, and rinse with water. Stir Ilves Metal Roof Paint well before use and apply it to the roof in two coats.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE PREVIOUSLY PAINTED SURFACES: Carefully remove any loose paint and clean the surface with an ammonia-based metal cleaner. Thoroughly remove any rust and prime corroded areas with Ilves Rust Prevention Paint. Mix Ilves Metal Roof Paint well before use and apply two coats to the roof.

APPLICATION METHOD: Brush, roller, or spray. After rolling, smooth the surface with a brush.
COVERAGE: Approximately 8–10 m²/l.
DRYING TIME: Touch dry in 1–3 hours (at +23 ºC and 50% relative humidity). Recoat the next day. The suggested drying time was measured under standard conditions of +23°C and 50% relative humidity (RH). If the humidity is higher and the temperature lower, the drying time of the paint will be longer.
GLOSS LEVEL: Matte.
THINNER AND CLEANING OF TOOLS: Water.

WORKING CONDITIONS: During painting and while the paint is drying, the paint and the surface being painted must be at a temperature of at least +10 ºC and the relative humidity below 80%. The paint film must dry before rain or dew forms.
TRANSPORT AND STORAGE: Transport upright and supported. Protect from freezing. Keep out of reach of children.
PACKAGING DISPOSAL: Empty containers should be disposed of with mixed waste or in accordance with local sorting instructions. Excess liquid paint should be taken to a hazardous waste collection point in its container.
