- Pakla Metalkitti is a fast-hardening two-component metallic gray polyester putty whose hardener uses benzoyl peroxide (Bpe)
- Pakla Metalkitti is a micro-granular metallic mass that is particularly suitable for straightening and smoothing metal surfaces
- The putty can be used to repair rust damage, smooth the orange surface, smooth out dents, cover welding seams and repair small cracks
- Metal putty can also be used on other hard surfaces, such as fiberglass
- Hardened chemical metal can be ground, drilled and tapped
Instructions:
- Sand the surface clean of rust and dirt
- Wipe away sanding dust and remove oil and grease stains with Pakla Aceton
- Only take the amount of putty at a time that you can apply in five minutes
- Mix the hardener paste included in the package into the putty at 1% of the amount of putty by weight
- Apply the paste to the affected area in long strokes
- Strokes are made with a sharp spatula from two directions, e.g. longitudinally and transversely
- In general, polyester putties shrink a little when they harden, so it is often necessary to apply another layer
- The surface is sanded lightly before the new layer
- The putty hardens in 5-10 minutes, and can be handled approx. 20 minutes after hardening
- The final sanding can be done with the appropriate grit, but if you want to use water sanding paper, you should let the putty harden for 3-4 hours before sanding
- This ensures complete hardening of the putty, making it resistant to water sanding as well
- Curing time: Many things affect the curing time, e.g
- The material of the base, thermal insulation, air humidity, temperature, thickness of putty, direct sunlight and amount of hardener
- Normally, 1mm thick putty hardens in 10 minutes (20ºC in a dry interior)
- Working hardness is reached in 20 to 30 minutes, and the putty reaches full hardness within a day
- It should be noted that the thinner the putty layer, the longer it takes to harden
