An extract made from the seeds of the guarana vine (Paullinia cupana), which grows in the jungles of Brazil, has been used for centuries for its invigorating and refreshing effects.
Guarana is fast-acting and its effect lasts about twice as long as, for example, the effect of the caffeine contained in coffee. 2 tablets contain 1000 mg of standardized seed extract, which in terms of stimulating properties is equivalent to a cup of coffee. According to chemical analyses, guarana contains xanthines - mainly guaranine (natural caffeine), theobromine and theophylline.
