Gerber Ultimate Survival is a multifunctional survival knife that combines the basic wilderness tools in one compact package. It is designed for demanding off-road use, where your gear must multi-task and perform reliably even when conditions change unexpectedly.
The drop-point blade is partially serrated, greatly expanding its range of uses. The smooth part can be used for precision cutting and food handling, while the serrated part effectively bites rope, webbing, roots or branches. On the back of the blade is a flame thrower that can be connected to a ferrocerium rod in the sheath to produce sparks. This makes it possible to light a fire without the need for separate tools, even if the matches or lighter get wet or lost.
The handle is ergonomically shaped and coated with a roughened rubber coating for a secure grip even in damp, cold or muddy conditions. At the end of the handle is a metal hammering surface for hitting tent pegs on the ground or breaking a window in an emergency, for example. The handle has an integrated emergency whistle, which can be used to call for help from a much longer distance than shouting.
The sheath of the knife is more than just a blade guard: it integrates both a sharpening stone and a ferrocerium rod. The sharpening stone keeps the blade in good working order even on longer trips, while the ferrocerium rod allows you to fire in conjunction with the back of the blade. The sheath keeps your tools organised and in one package, so everything you need is always within easy reach.
