The Gerber Truss is a professional multi-tool with as many as 17 tools in a compact package. An evolution of the original Suspension model, the Truss retains the best features of the classic: all tools openable from the outside, all tools lock in place and spring-loaded pliers. In addition, new features requested by users have been added, such as a peeling tool, a medium flathead screwdriver, a wet tool, a file and a straightedge.
The classic butterfly opening mechanism brings the spring-loaded narrow-tipped pliers quickly into action, with both handle halves folding to the sides. The spring-loaded jaws make working much easier - your hand does not need to constantly squeeze the handles, but can release the grip naturally. In addition to the pliers, you have traditional pliers, side cutters and a stripping tool for handling cables and wires.
The knives come in two different blade shapes: smooth and serrated. The smooth blade is suitable for precision work, while the serrated blade is effective for biting rope and other tough materials. The saw allows you to cut smaller branches and wood, while the scissors handle more delicate jobs.
There are four screwdrivers: crosshead, large, medium and small flat. The combination covers virtually every common type of screwdriver you'll encounter on the jobsite, at home or on a camping trip. A can opener, bottle opener, wet wrench, file and ruler complete the set and make the tool truly versatile.
The truss body is made from a single piece of steel, adding strength to the slender construction. This allows the tool to withstand heavy professional use, but still not feel too stiff in the hand.
The tool comes with an improved, low-profile sheath that can be attached to the belt either vertically or horizontally, depending on the situation. The sheath holds the tool securely in place and provides quick access to the tool in the middle of a job.
