The Frezzer Solar 130 l is a freestanding fridge-freezer combination, designed specifically for holiday cottages, which operates using a compressor. With a 70-litre fridge and a decent 60-litre freezer compartment – suitable for chips, fish fingers and berries alike – it makes it possible to manage everyday life whilst away from home or when the local shop is a bit of a trek away. In this size category, the freezer compartment is housed in its own separate section, which allows for significantly greater capacity and a separate door.
The Frezer Solar operates in holiday home settings with 12/24 V solar power systems and consumes less energy than a standard combination of fridge and inverter. The cooling system, based on traditional compression technology, is the same as in appliances used at home, but the electronics are designed for the DC voltage required for battery operation. The DC motor is therefore more energy-efficient, and the control system and thermostat, which feature soft-start current, ensure a longer service life for your batteries. Even if a battery has a high instantaneous current-supply capacity, power spikes drain it every time the fridge starts cooling, which happens several times a day.
The motor is also quieter than usual, allowing you to enjoy the great outdoors with less compressor noise. It features coils made entirely of copper, whereas in cheaper models they may be made of aluminium, which is less resistant to wear and tear.
The model is designed for the European market, but the basic design has been tested in tropical conditions, where low power consumption and good insulation are particularly important. This is particularly useful given that even Finnish summers are seeing more heatwaves and food needs to be kept cold.
