The Frezzer Solar 100 l is a freestanding refrigerator-freezer combination designed especially for cottages and powered by a compressor.
The 85 l fridge and the small 15 l freezer section for cold storage or ice cream packs allow you to run a standard fridge even far from home.
It works in cottage use with 12/24 V solar systems and consumes less energy than a normal fridge-inverter combination. The cooling based on traditional compression technology is the same as in home appliances, but the electronics are designed for the DC voltage required for battery operation. The DC motor is therefore more energy efficient, while the soft-start control and thermostat ensure longer battery life. Even if the battery has a high instantaneous current capacity, the power spikes will consume it every time the cabinet starts to cool down, which happens several times a day.
The motor is also quieter than normal, allowing you to enjoy the outdoors, with less compressor noise. It has coils made of full copper, while cheaper models may have them made of aluminium, which is less resistant to wear.
The model is designed for the European market, but the base has been tested in tropical conditions, where power density and good insulation are particularly important. This is useful, given that even in the Finnish summer months there are more hot spells and food needs to stay cold.
