When the device is connected to an external power source 12/24V or 230V, the device automatically switches off the battery power. The batteries do not charge even if the device is connected to an external power source with the batteries in place. The batteries must be charged with the battery manufacturer's own charger. When the device is disconnected from the mains, it automatically starts using battery power.
