EXPED Ultra 3R M - ultra-lightweight warmth for fast-paced adventures
EXPED Ultra 3R M is a lightweight and compact sleeping pad for hiking, trekking, bikepacking and other muscle-powered adventures where low weight and reliable insulation are crucial. Designed for three-season use, the base provides a thoughtful balance of comfort, warmth and packability.
Ultra 3R is based on SynMat Technology™ construction, where recycled Texpedloft™ microfiber insulation is laminated into air chambers to provide effective and uniform insulation throughout the sleeping surface. With an ASTM-tested R-value of 2.9, the pad is suitable for use in temperatures down to around -5°C, making it a safe choice from early spring to late autumn.
The pad is 7 cm thick and features EXPED's Comfort Cradle™, with larger side channels to help keep the body centered on the sleeping surface. The three-dimensional baffle structure increases stability, reduces cold bridges and improves sleeping comfort - without adding unnecessary weight.
The main fabric is made from recycled 20D ripstop polyester with TPU lamination and is bluesign® approved, ensuring a durable yet lightweight construction for active use. The Ultra 3R is equipped with EXPED's reliable FlatValve valve for quick and effortless filling and emptying. The included Schnozzel Pumpbag allows efficient filling without moisture entering the substrate.
With a weight of only 465 grams (size M) and a very small pack size, the Ultra 3R is a clear example of EXPED's philosophy: maximum performance, minimum surplus. No frills - just smart, durable construction that works when it counts.
