EXPED Ultra 3R Duo LW - lightweight, comfortable and designed for two
EXPED Ultra 3R Duo LW is an ultra-lightweight three-season sleeping pad for two people. It is designed for hiking, trekking, bikepacking and other muscle-powered adventures where low weight, good packability and reliable insulation are crucial. The Duo model in LW size offers extra length and plenty of space, making the platform ideal for taller users or those who want more room to move - without compromising on functionality or weight.
The platform is based on SynMat Technology™ construction, with recycled Texpedloft™ microfiber insulation laminated directly into the air passages. The structure provides even and effective insulation across the entire sleeping surface and reduces cold spots even when the temperature drops. With an ASTM-tested R-value of 2.9, the Ultra 3R Duo is suitable for use down to temperatures around -5°C, making it an excellent choice for spring, summer and autumn.
Ultra 3R Duo LW is 7 cm thick and features EXPED's Comfort Cradle™ construction, with larger side channels for added stability and to help keep both users centered on the platform throughout the night. The three-dimensional baffle structure creates a smoother sleeping surface, reduces cold spots and improves sleeping comfort - even when two people share the same platform.
The Cradle has two separately inflatable sides, allowing both users to adjust the firmness to their own preferences. When used alone, it is sufficient to fill only one side, making the platform a lightweight and compact sleeping platform for one person.
The cover fabric is made of recycled 20D ripstop polyester with TPU lamination and is bluesign® approved, ensuring a durable yet lightweight construction for active use. The Ultra 3R Duo LW is equipped with EXPED's FlatValve valve, which makes filling and emptying quick and effortless. The included Schnozzel Pumpbag allows for efficient filling without allowing moisture to enter the chassis.
Despite its rugged construction, the Ultra 3R Duo LW is lightweight and takes up little space in the pack, making it a smart choice for couples or solo hikers who appreciate comfort without the extra weight.
