Criollo Psyllium 600 g bark powder for horses is a highly fibrous and effective solution for sand-eating horses. This powder, which contains 100% ispaghulan bark, is obtained from plantain seeds (Plantago ovata). When you mix the powder with water, it swells strongly and binds up to 40 times its weight in water. Thanks to this, the powder becomes a gel mass that transports the sand out of the horse's digestive system.
In addition, Criollo Psyllium also works for constipation. The powder contains 8.0% moisture, 5.7% crude protein, 2.3% crude fat, 4.6% crude fibre and 3.8% crude ash. The dosage regimens are as follows: adult horses are recommended a dosage of 40-50 g per 2 liters of water daily; for ponies and smaller breeds, the dosage is 30 g per 1.5 liters of water daily; Foals need only 25 g per 1 litre of water daily.
A higher dosage is possible as directed by a veterinarian. One measuring spoon (40 g) is enough for one dose. Mix the shell powder with water and let it precipitate before adding it to the feed. We recommend dividing the dose into two feedings and making sure that the horse always has enough drinking water available.
