Criollo Psyllium 3.8 kg bark powder is an excellent choice for horses suffering from eating sand or constipation. This fibrous bark powder contains 100% ispaghulan bark from plantain seeds. When you mix it with water, it swells strongly and binds 40 times its weight of water, forming a gel mass. This will help carry sand out of the horse's intestines and ease constipation.
The nutrients in Criollo Psyllium are moisture 8.0%, crude protein 5.7%, crude fat 2.3%, crude fiber 4.6% and crude ash 3.8%. When used as a course, the dosage is 5-10 days per month, as needed. For adult horses, a dosage of 40-50 g per 2 liters of water is recommended daily. Ponies and smaller breeds need slightly less, about 30 g per 1.5 litres of water daily. Foals need even less, about 25 g per 1 litre of water daily.
Bark powder should be mixed with water and allowed to precipitate before mixing it with feed. We recommend dividing the dose into two feedings during the day. Remember to ensure that the horse has a sufficient supply of drinking water.
