A soap base containing nourishing shea butter, ready to be melted and poured into a mould. Perfect for making your own handmade soaps in your own colours.
This white shea butter soap base is ideal for making your own soaps at home. The ready-to-use base contains glycerine, which helps to maintain the skin’s natural moisture, and nourishing shea butter, which softens and protects the skin. The soap does not contain SLS, but instead uses a mild alternative that lathers lightly and pleasantly. The moisturising glycerine may cause the soap to sweat, as glycerine absorbs moisture from the air. Moisture may condense on the surface of the soap. To prevent sweating and ensure the soap lasts as long as possible, follow the instructions carefully.
Proceed as follows:
- Make the soap in a well-ventilated and dry area
- Cut the soap mass into smaller pieces
- Melt in a bain-marie (70–75 °C). Do not allow the water in the bain-marie to boil; the temperature of the soap mixture must not exceed 70–80 °C
- Stir the mixture whilst heating until it is completely liquid
- Add colours, fragrance oils, flowers and other ingredients
- Pour into silicone moulds and leave the soap to set for about an hour before removing it from the moulds
- Leave the soap to set for 24 hours on an absorbent surface (e.g. cardboard)
- Wrap the soap in tissue paper and store it in an airtight container or a cellophane bag. The perfect gift or for your own bathroom
- Use the soap in a self-draining soap dish to allow the water to drain away
