Ropes for a boat, a car, home, construction, the garden, and hobbies. These everyday essentials for every household are incredibly versatile. There are plenty of material options, ranging from natural fibers to tough plastics. A tow rope, a tie-down strap, a terrace rope, sisal cord, and jute twine—Kärkkäinen’s extensive selection has the right cords and ropes for your needs. Explore the range and order yours!
The product range of cords and ropes is wide! Ropes for outdoor use, indoors, fastening, tying, decorating, and marking boundaries. How do you choose the best rope for yourself?
First, think about the purpose. Do you need a good, strong, but fairly thin rope for various household needs—or a thick rope for décor and a terrace railing? Does the rope need to withstand all kinds of weather as a clothesline or a flagpole rope, and be UV-protected? Do you want a synthetic plastic rope or a genuine natural-material sisal rope? Does the rope need high strength to handle a heavy load under constant strain?
Braided and Twisted Synthetic and Natural-Fiber Ropes
Traditionally, rope is either twisted or braided. A braided rope is a bit more expensive than a twisted one, but it’s less likely to tangle. Ropes can also be double-braided, meaning there is a second core rope running inside the outer layer. This kind of rope is used in very demanding applications.
Ropes are divided into synthetic ropes and those made from natural fibers. Synthetic ropes are consistent in quality and durable, but less aesthetic than natural-fiber ropes. That’s why natural-fiber ropes are widely used in interior décor. They’re also eco-friendly. Natural-fiber cords are likewise used in decorating, but also in crafting and handicrafts.
Jute Twine Is Great for Crafts
Jute twine is a natural-fiber cord that can be used in many ways for décor, household use, garden work, as well as for crafting and as a handicraft supply. It’s beautiful and durable, and it has excellent knotting properties. This natural product breaks down biologically over time, so it can be used safely in the garden and vegetable patch.
Terrace Rope Creates a Beautiful Boundary
Terrace rope offers an easy solution for defining the edges of a terrace. A rope railing looks beautiful and lasts a long time. It doesn’t block the view, but it still makes the space feel intimate and private. When measuring how much terrace rope you need, remember the visual presentation—buy enough rope so it hangs in a nice curve between the railing posts. Terrace rope is sold both in natural-fiber and synthetic versions.
