The Carcassonne base game is required to play this add-on. You can also combine this with other Carcassonne add-ons.
In this Carcassonne add-on, animals and vineyards enliven the landscape. Get extra points by herding geese and growing your flock of sheep. But don't take too many risks, because when the wolf appears, your sheep will run away.
Summary of the add-on:
- Shepherds can be placed in the field of the tile you are playing (even if there is already a follower) instead of the usual follower. Only one shepherd can be on a field. The player then draws one random sheep token from a cloth bag.
- Sheep are tokens that are picked up from the bag each time the player continues to a field containing a shepherd. Either more sheep are raised from the bag or a wolf, which removes all the sheep already in the field (plus itself) back into the cloth bag (and the shepherd back into the player's stash). Instead of raising a sheep token, the player can score their sheep, meaning the player scores points equal to the sum of their sheep and returns them to the bag and takes their shepherd back in front of them. Sheep and shepherds do not award any points at the end of the game.
- Geese award the player 1 additional point (per tile containing geese) when they are next to the shepherd being scored.
- Vineyards give the player 3 extra points when located next to a scoring monastery or garden.
