The Carcassonne base game is required to play this add-on. You can also combine this with other Carcassonne add-ons.
In this Carcassonne add-on, the conspirators descend on our beautiful homeland. You score points by reinforcing common defensive positions with your followers. However, if you don't contribute enough to the defense, you may lose territory.
Summary of the add-on:
- The fortress consists of 3 defensive positions (roads, towns and monasteries), where players can always place an additional follower when they place a follower in that area elsewhere on the map. When a defensive station fills up with followers, they earn 3 points per follower (and are returned to the players' inventory).
- Catapults appear on the three sides of the fortress when tiles with siege symbols are raised. A second appearance of the same symbol triggers an attack, which again awards points to defending followers, but if a player has no followers defending that part of the fortress, he must remove (if possible) one of his followers from that type of area on the rest of the map
- Additional followers. Each player gets 2 more followers at the start of the game to help defend the fortress.
