Bushmen ULTRA Tarp 3 × 3 m is a lightweight but spacious tarp for camping, hiking and hammock use. The square tarp provides ample protection for a single or two people and is ideal for use over shorter hammocks or as a versatile additional shelter in camp.
The tarp is made from durable 20D ripstop nylon, with Dyneema reinforcements at the attachment points. The tarp alone weighs only 410g, but provides approximately 9 m² of shelter. The square shape allows for several different set-up options for different terrains and weather conditions.
The ULTRA Tarp 3 × 3 m has a total of 16 attachment points, giving you plenty of freedom for set-up. Three of the anchorage points are located on the ridge of the central seam and are specially reinforced. The taped centre seam improves waterproofing and increases durability for long-term use.
The tarp is supplied as a complete set, including 6 pcs of 3 m long anchoring pegs with sliding buckles. The sliding buckles allow quick and easy tightening without knots. They also act as a safety mechanism: when overloaded, the buckle lets the cord slip, which helps to prevent damage to the tarp, for example in high winds or in tripping situations.
If the cord comes loose from the hook, it can be re-installed by lifting up the flap of the hook and sliding the cord back between the teeth.
The ULTRA series of tarps are designed for the user who appreciates ultra-lightweight equipment. The construction does not include heavy reinforcements, so careful handling is essential. The tarp is not designed to withstand heavy loads or extremely high winds. The use of rubber bands for attachments is recommended as they absorb sudden pulls and can extend the life of the tarp.
The compact packing bag supplied as a set is equipped with three loops - two on the long side and one on the end. These allow the bag to be easily attached to a backpack or rucksack. Packing a wet tarp into a tight bag can be challenging, so careful folding and rolling makes packing easier.
